چکیده

Abstract Context Calprotectin is a cytoplasmic-protein that released upon neutrophilic activation. Measuring fecal-calprotectin (FC) used for monitoring inflammatory bowel disease activity and distinguishing it from irritable syndrome. However, its utility in other types of colitis has not been well-investigated. Design Cases collagenous-colitis (CC) lymphocytic-colitis (LC) between 2015 2020 were retrieved our institution surgical pathology database. Endoscopy histopathologic examination findings reviewed to confirm the diagnosis. 15 CC 13 LC cases included as FC was done at time initial diagnosis (before therapy). 62 normal endoscopy selected control group. One-way analysis variance (ANOVA) receiver operating curve (ROC) performed. Results Abnormally elevated (> 50 ug/g) identified 77% 64% cases, respectively. Only 1.6% had mildly 54 ug/g. The mean groups (246 214, respectively) significantly higher than group (22.4); p= <0.05. no statistically significant difference (p = 0.8). area under 0.93 with ROC analysis. At suggested cut-off ug/g, sensitivity 78.6%, specificity 98.4% likelihood ratio 48.7. Conclusions Fecal calprotectin can be patients lymphocytic or collagenous colitis, however two types. Therefore, potential marker screening, diagnosis, response therapy microscopic colitis.
